Former Liberty Trails Residents Return to Purchase Second Home

When Larry and Diane Fellinger decided to move back to Illinois from Arizona, there was no question as to where they would live. The 82-year-old couple loved their first home at Liberty Trails so much that they chose to purchase a second home within the community of McHenry County real estate.

“We chose Gerstad the first time because we liked their reputation as being a quality builder,” said Diane Fellinger. “We enjoyed our first home at Liberty Trails so much, we knew we would like our second home.”

The Fellingers originally chose McHenry County for the location of their first home because they wanted to be close to their daughter. Larry and Diane were drawn to the interior design of Liberty Trails’ model home. The home’s one-story, open floorplan with basement fit perfectly with the couple’s lifestyle. They were also impressed with the large family room for entertaining family and guests.

However, due to Larry’s back problems and his doctor’s advice to relocate to a dryer climate, the couple reluctantly moved to Arizona where they resided for three years. When Larry’s back healed, they decided to once again move to McHenry to be close to family and friends at Liberty Trails.

The Fellingers chose the Jefferson, Liberty Trails’ 2,170 square-foot floorplan priced at $247,990, for their second home. The home’s cabinetry, tile, carpeting and Corian® countertops matched the couple’s preferences completely.

Nestled among quiet, rolling landscapes, Liberty Trails is composed of new McHenry County real estate priced from $178,990 to $308,490. Buyers may choose from ranch or two-story homes offering two to four bedrooms and up to three baths ranging from 1,300 to 3,200 square feet. All homes come complete with GE appliances, Kohler fixtures and a choice of oak or white Colonist doors and trim.

Buyers will appreciate the community’s close proximity to area schools, shopping, lakes, Fox River, parks, golf and Centegra Hospital. Residents will enjoy a community tot park and green space for outdoor recreation. Children residing at Liberty Trails are served by Hilltop Elementary, Duker Elementary, McHenry Middle School and McHenry High School.
