Let’s first start with how the color is chosen. The Pantone Company has a special color matching system and colors can be based on environment, what is happening around us, what is popular in home décor and fashion. Pantone has been choosing the colors of the year for well over 20 years, thus giving them the title of color experts.

‘Living Coral’ was announced as the color of the year for 2019 by Pantone. This warm and inviting color was inspired by undersea nature. The orange and pink hues represent how the coral reefs provide shelter to a vast amount of colorful creatures.  Living Coral is meant to bring happiness to any environment, making this a perfect color to bring into any room in the house.

So how would you incorporate this new color into your home? If you are starting to pick how you want the kitchen painting an accent wall would be perfect or picking accessories such as pillows or rugs.  Living Coral is a very happy and bright color so a room with a lot of natural light like a kitchen would be ideal. Painting the trim of your kitchen windows adds a fun way to incorporate this color and creates pop to what is usually a neutral space.
