We’re Working on a Custom-Built New Home on Fox River!
In our latest home building project, Gerstad Builders is tearing down and rebuilding a fully-customized home along Fox River, located just north of the city of McHenry. While we provide several new floor plans for buyers in our new home communities, this project was introduced to us by the owners of this riverside property. With their exact specifications in mind, Gerstad Builders is proud to be a part of creating a completely personalized dream house for these homeowners.
The area in which the home site is located was developed around the early 1900s, so many homes along the edge of Fox River are also undergoing the process of renovation. While this project is typically referred to as a “tear down and rebuild,” Gerstad Builders will begin by constructing the new home first, and then the lot owners will remove the older house. By building the new house before the other one is torn down, the owners will still be able to live on their property while the home is in progress, and then get to immediately move into their new home once construction is complete.
This fully customized home includes two stories complete with three bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths and several special features specifically requested by the lot owners. Designed with a spacious, open layout, the floor plan includes approximately 2,500 square feet of living space, a full basement and 10-foot ceilings on the first floor. The home will be equipped with hardwood flooring throughout each room, a zoned force air heating system and granite countertops in the kitchen to add that extra touch of luxury. Unique features of this residence include two fireplaces, an elevator and a dog bath.
