For the past two years, I have been involved with a very nice group of youngsters in the McHenry Youth Baseball league. They are the McHenry 13u Cobra team and I would like to thank them for allowing me the privilege to be one of their coaches. These are boys from the McHenry area who travel all or most all of the summer to various ballparks and represent the McHenry community in their travels.

Last year, the 12 year olds they got to travel to Cooperstown, New York to participate in a tournament at Dreams Field and tour the baseball hall of fame, a memory none of them will soon forget. The Cobra program is set up for boys, ages 9-14 in the McHenry area who would like to play in an advanced league that allows them to compete with boys from the entire McHenry county area. It is run by parents in McHenry and the surrounding area, and can be a fairly expensive proposition requiring many hours of fund raising; so a big thank you must go to the parents of the boys involved in the many hours that are required to run this program. It is another reason for someone to think of McHenry as a good place to raise a family.
